Any ideas of how to finnish this religious story?

Okay so a young boy has to take part in this war. He doesn't want to because last time there was war, his father died. He has two sisters that he has to take care of. He hates war and isn't sure if god is good, why is there evil in this world? So he goes on a journey (vision quest) and sees his father in the distance hovering over water..........What should his dad say to him, and what should happen next? Should he find an answer to the question? What is the answer to that question anyways? (Catholic school) Please help? Thanks!
