QUESTION FOR CIVIL WAR HISTORIANS!!!?
I would like a professional opinion on a question that has been on my mind for the past few days. I would like to know who would win in a contest between two Confederate generals if they were to face off against each other on the battlefield. They would have their respective armies and would be battling on an open field with a small town nearby. Only a handful of trees and bushes in the area and no fences. Lets ume that they have the same number of men and supplies and are able to employ their respective battlefield tactics. I am curious to know who would win and would like the opinion of someone who has knowledge of that era. The battle is: Robert E. Lee vs. Nathan Bedford Forrest. I would like to know which general would win if they were to fight against each other. Please include who would win and your reasoning for it. I am simply asking for opinions and would truly appreciate an answer. Thank you.
