Where can I go to get the most value from US Dollar on vacation / holiday ?

I know that the dollar is very strong in India - Top hotels will cost me 30 bucks per night (yet airfare is outrageous) So, I would like to have other options as well. I am in US traveling in June 06 with family of 4. Two adults, two sons ages 7 and 12. I would like a memorable, yet affordable vactaion spot for the family. Open to any suggestions. I am unsure of where to start.
