What if the US continues the training practices with South Korea on Sunday?
Most people do not realize that North Korea is pretty much on it's own. A rogue nation. China may technically be their ally but they do not care for N. Korea's actions one little bit. China is having a great time selling goods all over the world and they will not take kindly to hostilities breaking out thus ending their trade with the west. It would be a total economic disaster for them and that can not be understated. Conditions are much different than those in the 1950s when the last war was fought on that peninsula. The Soviet Union provided great istance to both China and N. Korea and as we all know they are long gone. Contrary to propaganda, N. Korea's military is not very strong and the nation as a whole is also on the skids. A war would only exacerbate their already dire state. As far as their nuclear capability goes, the few bombs they have are small, more on the Hiroshima / Nagasaki scale, really only firecrackers compared to the 20 Megaton, standard issue US bombs and their delivery systems are iffy. This is certainly a deterrent. They may be crazy but they aren't stupid. If push comes to shove and an all out shooting war breaks out the most likely scenario will be that China will invade N. Korea, take out Kim Jong-il / Kim Jong-eun and run it in a way that will benefit China.
