ume unbroken male line, average no of male issue per generation, average length of generations. OK to ume single average no. of sons - for all generations? Practice of father's surname being ped to sons only - ume for entire time. How wd. effects of epidemics, wars, etc. be handled? Number of the entitled now shd really include wives & girl children but no. of entitled males in present generation & its overlap w/ generations past/forward shd be good enough answer - total entitled cd. be projected. Wd. problem be more workable/credible if name were "Apostol" (Hispanic too) & you start w/ 12 apostles? In either case the Math wd be workable only if names directly equivalent to "Evangelista" or "Apostol" in non-Hispanic languages were included in the count. This problem is interesting because it seems to me there are very few names of which it can be said that only a definite no. of persons were originally "entitled" to those names.
